Opening ceremony

The Opening ceremony will take place at the Conference Venue on Monday March 8, 2010. The opening includes:

1. Welcome addresses

2. Spectacle with traditional dances

3. Cocktail reception

 

New Acropolis Museum Visit

 

The New Acropolis Museum Visit and guided tour will be organized on Wednesday March 10, 2010.    

The official opening of the New Acropolis Museum took place on 20 June 2009.The building is located in the historical area of Makriyianni, south-eastern of the Rock of the Acropolis. It abstains only 300 metres from the Acropolis, while it has direct access to Athens metro (“Acropolis station"). The total extent of the Museum is  21.000 square meters while it allocates also exhibition space of 14.000 square meters. The museum will exhibit approximately 4.000 artifacts.

Conference Dinner

The Conference dinner will take place on Thursday March 11, 2010 at the restaurant of the Yacht Club of Greece, located on the top of a hill at the Microlimano (which means "small port"). The location offers a remarkable view of the Phaleron Bay, the Saronic Gulf and the islands of Salamis, Aegina and Poros as well as the city of Athens with its surrounding mountains.

The rooms “Sea-fights A and B” and "Winds" will host the partcipants and accompanying persons of the IM 2010 conference.

The transportation to the Microlimano will be arranged by GAEC.

Optional cultural activities and tours. Conference organizers in cooperation with travel agent Zita Congress S.A. propose to participants and accompanying persons a range of cultural activities and half-day or one-day tours. Participants and accompanying persons interested in attending one or some of these organized visits/tours should contact Zita Congress S.A.
